Coral Plantation and Garbage Collecting on Feb.27, 2016

Coral Plantation and Garbage Collecting on Feb.27, 2016

We conducted coral plantation and garbage collecting on February 27, 2016. Number of the coral reefs in Thailand have significantly reduced due to the impact of the Tsunami and rise of sea temperature caused by the global warming.  Around 100 DSTH staff visited Sattaheep, Cholburi province to join a coral planation and garbage collecting at the beach.

After opening remarks made by Mr. Ikeda, Managing Director of DSTH, a navy officer gave us a lecture on a coral planation and instruction of method how to plant a coral by using PVC pipe. We put small coral into the PVC pipe and used screwdrivers to attach corals with PVC pipe. We had to finish the work in a short time otherwise they may die because of lack of water.

In the afternoon, we conducted another CSR activity, collecting garbage at the beach.  Under very hot and strong sunshine conditions, all staff worked diligently and collected a lot of garbage.

We continue to pursue to our head quarter CSR policies on environment management which can contribute to a sustainable society and enhance our reputation as a good corporate citizenship.
